Privacy Policy

Last updated October 21, 2026

This policy explains what ChatJiggleButt (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our website and service, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We collect only what we need to run the service, and we don't sell your information.

What we collect

Your account. Your email address, the username you choose, and your password. We store your password only in a scrambled (hashed) form that can't be turned back into the password.

Billing. If you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment. We never see or store your full card number. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and whether your subscription is active, in trial, or past due.

Your workspace. Your workspace is a private desktop we run for you. You sign in to Microsoft Teams on it yourself, so your Teams sign-in session, and whatever Teams keeps on that desktop, is stored there. We never ask for your Microsoft password. We also keep details we need to run the workspace: its name, size, network address, whether it's on or off, and the working hours and other settings you choose.

Problem log. Your workspace reports problems to us so we can show them on your dashboard and email you. For example, that Teams signed out or stopped running, and when.

Security log. We record sign-ins, failed sign-ins, password changes and resets, billing changes, and when your workspace is started, stopped or restarted, with the time and the IP address the request came from.

Messages you send us. If you use our contact form or email us, we keep your name, email address, any company or role you give, and your message.

How we use it

  • To create your account and build, run and look after your workspace.
  • To send emails the service needs: confirming your address, password resets, sign-out alerts, and trial and billing notices.
  • To take payment and manage your subscription.
  • To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and investigate problems.
  • To answer your questions.
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping tax records.

We don't send marketing email unless you ask for it, and we don't use your information for advertising.

Who can see your workspace

We don't look at your Teams messages, calls or files. Our staff access your workspace only when we need to: to fix a problem you report, to keep it updated and working, to investigate a security issue or abuse, or when the law requires it.

Cookies

We use only the cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps you signed in and one that protects forms from forgery. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your own browser. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run the service, and only what each one needs:

  • Hetzner Online hosts our website, database and backups.
  • Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions.
  • Microsoft delivers the emails we send you, through Microsoft 365.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of selling or merging the business, in which case this policy would still apply to your information. We never sell your personal information.

Where it's stored

We are based in Alberta, Canada. Your information may be stored and processed in Canada, the United States, the European Union or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws from yours, and their authorities may be able to access information held there.

How long we keep it

  • Your account is kept until you ask us to delete it.
  • Your workspace is switched off when your trial or subscription ends, and deleted, with everything on it, 14 days later.
  • Backups of our database are kept for up to 14 days, then deleted.
  • Security log entries are kept after an account is deleted, as a record for security and fraud prevention.
  • Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can see your email address and change your password in your account. You can also ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you,
  • correct anything that's wrong,
  • delete your account and workspace, or
  • stop using your information for a particular purpose.

Email support@chatjigglebutt.com from the address on your account and we'll reply within 30 days. Some records, such as billing records, we may need to keep by law.

If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, encrypted secrets, private networks for workspaces, and the other measures described on our Security page. No service can be perfectly secure, but we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.

Children

ChatJiggleButt is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll also email you before it takes effect.
